The school nurse’s office is located at Tartu Kesklinna School (Kroonuaia 7). Students are accompanied to the nurse’s office by our head of studies, Kirsi Kriit.

The service is provided by Tartu Koolitervishoiu OÜ (activity licence No. L02675).

The purpose of school health care services is to:

  • monitor students’ health;
  • promote healthy lifestyles among students;
  • prevent students from becoming ill and prevent the development of chronic diseases;
  • monitor the implementation of medically justified study loads and the creation of a healthy environment;
  • provide emergency medical assistance when necessary.

Health check-ups and vaccinations

Health check-ups and vaccinations are voluntary and are carried out only with the written consent of the parent or guardian. Depending on the student’s age, the school nurse will contact the family before the planned activities.

Health check-up contains:

  • measuring height
  • measuring weight
  • visual acuity test
  • measuring blood pressure
  • posture assessment
  • skin condition assessment
  • musculoskeletal condition assessment
  • mental health status assessment
  • questions about lifestyle

Vaccination at school:

  • 12-19 years – Human Papillomavirus vaccine (Gardasil 9)
  • 13 years – Measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMRVaxPro)
  • 15-17 years – Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (Adacel)

Vaccinations are carried out at school in accordance with the National Immunisation Schedule. Vaccinations are free of charge.
