Curriculum
The aim of Tartu International Kindergarten’s curriculum is to support children’s mental, physical and academic development in a child-friendly, creative and playful way. Our curriculum promotes tolerance and guides students to notice the diversity of the world. Tartu International Kindergarten’s curriculum is based on the Estonian national curriculum for preschool childcare institutions and the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB).
The curriculum has been tailored to fit the needs of our international community. The language of instruction at Tartu International Kindergarten is English.
Our curriculum has seven subject fields:
- Me and the environment;
- Language and speech;
- Mathematics;
- Estonian as a foreign language;
- Arts;
- Music;
- Movement.
From ages 1½ to 3, the children follow Tartu International Kindergarten’s curriculum.
From ages 3 to 6, the children follow Tartu International Kindergarten’s curriculum together with the IB Primary Years Programme.
