Global Outdoor Classroom Day is celebrated on the 20th of May. Outdoor Classroom Day is a global movement to make time outdoors part of every child’s day.
At TIS we believe in inquiry-based, real-life and hands-on learning in any environment – indoors and outdoors. A lot of outdoor learning happened in our school today from measuring, estimating and comparing in Maths to revising vocabulary in Estonian as a host language. We are lucky to have the perfect environment to practice outdoor learning – our schoolhouse is surrounded by the greenery of the park with a number of learning spaces available for our students and teachers to use. Organizing outdoor learning is fun and easy with the right supplies at hand – clipboards, pencils, pebbles, sand, string, clothes pegs, picnic tables and blankets, sitting pads. Add the weatherproof clothing and creativity of our professional teachers, and let the exploration begin!
